Donut Scanner Inc ("we", "us", or "our") provides a mobile and web app that surfaces local incident reports. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

• Account information: email address and login credentials when you create an account or sign in.
• Social sign-in: if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and basic profile information (as provided by those services).
• App activity: saved incidents, notification preferences, and other settings tied to your account.
• Location data (optional): if you allow location access, we use precise location on your device to center the map and show nearby incidents. We do not send your precise location to our servers.
• Location search queries: if you search for a place or address, the query may be sent to our servers and/or third-party geocoding providers to return map coordinates.
• Device and usage data: standard log data such as IP address, device type, and app version when you use our services.

2. How We Use Information

• Create and manage your account.
• Provide incident feeds, maps, and search results.
• Save incidents and sync your preferences.
• Send in-app or browser alerts you opt into.
• Maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.

3. Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising, marketing, analytics, or crash reporting SDKs at this time. We share data only when needed to provide the service:

• Service providers: hosting, infrastructure, and geocoding services used to operate the app.
• Map providers: map tiles and services (for example, Apple or Google Maps) may receive device and location data as part of map rendering.
• Social sharing: if you choose to share, your content is sent to the social platform (for example, X or Twitter) under their policies.
• Legal: if required to comply with law or protect rights and safety.

4. Data Retention

We retain account data and preferences while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app, which removes your account data from our systems within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law.

5. Your Choices

• Location access: control via device settings.
• Notifications: manage in app and browser settings.
• Account deletion: available in the app profile section.
• You may request access or corrections to your data by contacting us.

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, but no system is 100 percent secure.

7. Children

Donut Scanner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and notify users as appropriate.
